Well, the mesquite my lumber supplier finally arrived. This is his first atempt at cutting backs and sides--I think he did a great job. They are oversized for a dread, maybe jumbo too. They are sanded with 100 grit to 3/16". Sorry my photo skills stink, but the figure is amazing, lots of burls and pins. I thought it would be straight grained but, no, its very burly. It was wiped down with mineral spirits to show the grain some. I beleive he said he had 6 more sets cut form teh same log if anyone wants any? He has no idea as to pricing, but I'm not sure on mesquite either. I know you would all like it free, but what would you be willing to pay for such a set if you wanted mesquite? I also have matching headstock plates.

Nice looking wood, I would check with Lance or Brock on selling it and get their input. I would be interested in a set to try, don't know how it will bend, keep me posted.

Thanks

Mike Spencer

I'm thinking how good some nice big fat Filet Mignon's would be cooked on that stuff...
